Solar Homes Tour on Saturday, May 8 in Manhattan Beach

2nd Annual Solar Homes Tour in Manhattan Beach

Go Solar on Saturday, May 8th

Tour Five Solar and Sustainable Homes in Manhattan Beach

Are you interested in "Going Solar"? The City's Environmental Task Force wants to help residents learn how they can go solar in Manhattan Beach. This is the 2nd Annual tour organized by the Task Force. Five Manhattan Beach homes will be available for community members to ask questions of solar representatives, understand the benefits of solar power, and watch the meter spin backwards
-all at no cost.

Last year's event had 20-30 visitors per home, as well as a group that made the commitment to reduce their carbon footprint for the event by cycling to each house. Join the City of Manhattan Beach this year as we highlight five homes that not only are solar-powered, but also feature solar heated hot water, double pane windows, low voltage lighting, off-peak timed appliances, and drought-tolerant plantings.

The Solar Homes Tour is a great opportunity to visit interesting homes, and find out what you can do to save energy, money, and the planet. Each home will be open to visitors for two hours, starting at 9:30 AM. Please see the Solar Homes Tour Flyer (PDF) for more details on each of the homes, including directions and special features.  Or add the tour to your Outlook calendar automatically from this page on the City's web site.
