FHA-insurance give lenders the confidence to grant mortgages to borrowers unable to put down large down payments. But what if you can afford a down payment of 10 or 20%?  Should you consider an FHA loan anyway? Here's why the answer is "probably not:" Conventional mortgage costs often lower.
